The actors involved in promoting agroecology in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are taking a new step. Meeting on Saturday 18 July in Kinshasa, they decided to set up a multi-stakeholder platform to coordinate and monitor the implementation of the project. « Biodiversity, Climate and Agroecology Initiative in the Congo Basin » (COBCAI).
Organized byAlliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA)The workshop brought together the various stakeholders involved in this regional project, whose ambition is to reconcile the conservation of tropical forests, food sovereignty and respect for human rights in the six countries of the Congo Basin.
The aim of the work was to strengthen the understanding and ownership of the COBCAI project by the relevant actors, to identify synergies between existing programmes at the national and regional levels, to define priorities for action with the competent authorities and partners, and to explore funding opportunities for the Congo Basin.
