Organized by the Network of Agroecology in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (RAE/DRC), the general objective of the awareness day is to raise awareness among members of consumer associations so that they are not only able to defend and promote agroecology, but also to demand the presence, marketing and consumption of quality products on Congolese territory.
Despite growing interest in agroecology in the DRC, its adoption by producers and promotion to the various actors remains limited. Many constraints continue to hamper its development. These may be technical, economic, social, cultural, institutional, regulatory, commercial or related to perceptions, access to information, markets, financing and public policies.
As part of the implementation of its Strategic Plan and Operational Plan 2026, the ROE-RDC identified its Axis 1: « Citizen Engagement – Agro-ecological awareness », the need to mobilize and raise awareness of the importance of agroecology to ensure its adoption and integration at all levels.
To achieve this, the Network has planned to organise a multi-stakeholder day to raise awareness and taste of agro-ecological foods for members of consumer associations.
This awareness day will be held on Friday 21 August 2026 at Caritas Kinshasa administrative headquarters, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
