On Friday, 21 August 2026, the Agroecology Network in the DRC (RAE) organized a day dedicated to agroecological palabra, bringing together consumer associations, agricultural producers, marketers, technical and financial partners and several other actors to promote agroecology.
The aim of the meeting was to raise awareness and raise awareness among the various actors on the importance of agroecology in order to enable them to better defend and promote it. It also aimed to encourage the production, marketing and consumption of healthy products derived from agro-ecological practices throughout Congolese territory.
Particular attention has also been paid to the role of consumers in protecting and defending the interests of the population, in particular by promoting healthy eating.
In order to better identify the issues related to the urgent adoption of agroecological practices throughout the food chain, two interventions marked this day.
The National Coordinator of the National Security and Agroecological Protection Service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Richard Beya, met with the participants on the theme « Generalities of agroecology ». He was followed by Dr. Désiré Bombile, who explained on « The importance of food from agroecology for human health ».
Convinced of the urgency and the need to adopt and promote agro-ecological practices, the participants realized their commitment by signing acts of commitment to this cause.
The day ended in a friendly atmosphere with a tasting of prepared dishes based on foods produced according to agro-ecological standards, thus giving a concrete dimension to the principles defended throughout this agroecological palabre.
