Agroecology DRC: RAE-RDC Constitutive Assembly

1

Farmers' organisations, NGOs, research and microfinance institutions engaged in agroecology in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

From 15 to 16 May 2025, a General Assembly of the Network of Agroecology in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (RAE-DRC in acronym) was held in Kinshasa.

For two days, different actors (NGOs, peasant organisations, researchers, etc.) from several provinces have been thinking together about the future of agroecology in the DRC.

These discussions resulted in the formal creation of the RAE-DRC, the adoption of its founding charter, the establishment of governance bodies, and the development of an ambitious roadmap for 2025–2026, as well as the first directions of the strategic plan 2026–2030.

RAE DRC marks an important step in bringing together efforts, amplifying impacts, and making agroecology a real lever for transforming Congolese agricultural systems.

It should be noted that the RAE remains open to all organisations promoting agroecology.

It should be noted that this activity has benefited from the support of Humundi DRC, an international NGO that fights hunger, poverty and inequality by making rural populations autonomous and guaranteeing a healthy diet for all, thanks to agroecology.

Join the network and work for a sustainable diet!
